The operational management of the Practice and Consortium is made much simpler with Intradoc247. The feature list is too long to include here; everything you do on a day to day basis to manage your operation is simplified.
The ability to tag both documents and processes to regulatory requirements takes the stress out of those regulatory inspections. Proof of compliance just becomes part of your normal work process and not an ongoing chore.
New functionality to make your life even easier is added regularly and is based on requests from customers. You can be sure that the system is built with you in mind. In the short time that we have been working with Caradoc, we have already started to work with the team there to enable members to take advantage of the significant cost savings available to them. Lexacom secure exclusive Caradoc supply deal
The Caradoc Medical Services Buying Consortium has appointed Lexacom as its exclusive approved supplier of digital dictation software.
Caradoc represents more than 800 GP practices in the UK and helps its members to maximise their profitability through enhanced buying terms and the promotion and introduction of money saving initiatives.
Lexacom's popular and innovative digital dictation software has been proven to deliver impressive cost savings and a greater level of immediacy and efficiency in more than 1500 GP practices across the UK. This has been the catalyst for Caradoc's decision to appoint the software house as its exclusive approved digital dictation supplier.
Buying Consortium Manager, Peter Masters, said:
"I have only heard good things
about Lexacom and when I had a software demonstration I was immediately
impressed. It's clear that Lexacom's digital dictation software is designed by
GPs for GPs and I think our members will see the benefits of a product that is
dedicated to improving administrative efficiency in the practice and achieves
excellent results."
In a recent audit that directly compared the efficiency of a digital dictation system to that of a tape-based dictation platform, Lexacom's software was found to reduce the average time it takes to process urgent patient information from 31 hours and 42 minutes down to 1 hour and 21 seconds. Also, when processing routine patient information, Lexacom reduced this average from 98 hours and 17 minutes down to 26 hours and 48 minutes.
Peter Masters admitted that Caradoc's decision to appoint Lexacom was also influenced by the technical developments that it has planned for the near future.
Lexacom
Managing Director, Dr Andrew Whiteley, said:
"We are in the closing stages of
our latest technical development phase and will shortly be rolling out some very
exciting solutions, including a brand-new software program, a genuine 'Cloud'
communication platform and apps for various mobile devices like the iPhone and
BlackBerry. We're very proud of our ability to push the envelope of technical
development and give customers like the members of Caradoc a digital dictation
solution and improvements in efficiency that they cannot get anywhere else."
For further information about Lexacom and its innovative digital dictation software, visit www.lexacom.co.uk or telephone +44 (0) 1295 738011.

Joining Caradoc, which is completely FREE, gives them access to over 90 suppliers and from our experiences Telephone, Electricity/Gas, Insurances, Stationery are just a few areas of expenditure where Caradoc suppliers have consistently saved money for practices."

Williams Medical Supplies the UK's leading medical provider of medical supplies and services and a major supplier to the Caradoc Medical Services Buying Consortium has just completed the first Health & Safety update for members of the consortium in Shropshire. Further sessions are planned around the country and are FREE to Caradoc Members.
Great session. Scott was fabulous clearly a master at work, with a passion for H&S. Very much liked that it was not a sales pitch, but inclusive of some really useful information.
GM - Practice Manager in Powys.H&S can be a dry subject but it is something that as employers we need to understand and ensure is followed correctly. Having thought that I had got a suitable rein on the H&S requirements at my practice it was very useful to have additional detail brought to my attention. Furthermore, I much appreciated Scott bringing us up to date on the requirements to be met with the new legislation coming into effect. I am particularly grateful for the accompanying handouts on the USB Stick as they will be invaluable whilst I now put what Scott has preached into practice. I would also like to commend Scott for presenting this potentially 'boring' subject in a style and manner through which he was able to maintain my attention and interest. Future audiences may care to be advised that this is a professional and helpful presentation and it was not used as a platform for WMS to make any overt H&S support service marketing pitch.
TM - Practice Manager in Shropshire.-
"very informative, it doesn't matter how much you think you know there is always something to learn and the odd shock! Good interactive session for a very dry subject.
TC - Practice Manager in Telford & Wrekin.

Caradoc's Manager, Peter Masters, commented - "The venue and facilities at Shrewsbury Town Football Club were excellent and the format of the day really seemed to work well. The presentations / workshops in the morning, by Joanne White of Linder Myers, on Employment Law were well received by the Practice Managers and this was followed by the suppliers exhibition".
Here's what a few of the Managers had to say...

Caradoc Medical Services
Caradoc Medical Services, the sister company of Shropshire Doctors Ltd, run a buying consortium for the GP Practices in Shropshire. Rather than throwing away their empty printer cartridges the Consortium's stationery supplier, Border Office Supplies & Systems Ltd, have been collecting them from Shropdoc and the surgeries with all proceeds going to the Shrewsbury branch of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Since launching the scheme just before Christmas £200 has been raised and Clare recently came along to Shropdoc's offices to pick up the cheque. Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer; providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support. Employ-Line
One of the many advantages of using the Employ-Line service is that all our clients are made aware of any upcoming changes and the implications they may have on their Employment compliance. The introduction of the new 'Fit notes' are featured in our latest Employ-Line newsletter and although you are not (yet) a member we thought you would like to be made aware of this latest development.
Our Employ-Line service is available to all Caradoc members at reduced prices and you also have the unique 'Caradoc Employment Advice Scheme' available at just £499 per year. If you would like any further details please do not hesitate to contact me.
Jo White, Employment Solicitor at Linder Myers, explains...
"The Government will replace the current "sick note" system with a "fit note" system with effect from 6 April 2010. This new
legislation is designed to provide a positive statement confirming the person is 'fit to work' rather than a negative statement as to
why the person cannot work. These new 'rules' do not affect Employees' Contracts or Terms and Conditions of Employment although
you are advised to check the wording of your internal absence policies to ensure consistency with the new terminology".
Under the new system: -
The fit note will list common changes which could be made to an employee's work environment or job role to help facilitate a return to work. Where a doctor considers another option is more appropriate, he or she will have the opportunity to state this in the comments box.
There will no longer be 'a fit for work' option as doctors were felt not to have the appropriate knowledge about individuals' roles and the risks involved to be able to assess this.
The 'may be fit for some work' option will be replaced with 'you may be fit for work taking account of the following advice'. This acknowledges that it is not the doctor, but the employer, in consultation with their employee, who is best placed to make the decision as to whether they can accommodate any changes to facilitate a return to work.
The maximum duration the fit note can be issued for will be reduced from six to three months during the first six months of a health condition.
If an employer is not able to facilitate a change or an adjustment, a revised fit note is not necessary; the existing fit note is evidence that an individual has a health condition preventing him or her carrying out the current role.
If you would like to know more about the unique Employ-Line services and other legal services from Linder Myers please refer to the supplier section in the Members area.

Kays Medical has even more to offer your surgery
Kays medical, supplier of medical equipment, consumables, and biohazard decontamination products has been supplying GP's nationwide for over 30yrs.
Since the acquisition of Response UK in December 2008 - Kays has ensured that the leading biohazard decontamination equipment and training specialists have maintained the number one position in its field.
The first project implemented under the new Response UK and Kays Medical joint management team was the development of a new infection control range containing the "Response Beta Formulation". This new range includes hard surface spray disinfectants, alcohol free skin sanitizers, response beta impregnated wipes and is due to include some more exciting products to be launched imminently.
A unique feature of Response Beta is that it is skinsafe i.e. it can be used repeatedly on the skin without irritation, making it ideal for high infection risk environments that may require more frequent cleaning.
Response Beta is a broad spectrum biocide which is scientifically proven to kill the Influenza A(H1N1) virus, HIV, Hepatitis, MRSA, Clostridium Difficile (along with a broad range of additional bacterium, viruses, fungi and spores) the Response Beta formulation is ideal for use all over your surgery.
This new formula has been integrated with the existing Response biohazard decontamination products improving the efficacy of our body fluid spill kits and sharps handling kits.
The response Beta Range in combination with our broad range of supplies and equipment means you can now purchase all the products you need for your surgery from one source saving you time and money...
