  • Around 1,560 people are diagnosed with cancer in Shropshire every year.

  •  We want to be able to reach every single person who is diagnosed with cancer and to be there for them at every stage of their cancer journey, no matter who they are, what part of the country they live in, or what type of cancer they have. We will reach them by helping to make life better, in however large or small a way, through our services.

  • Throughout Shropshire, Macmillan Cancer Support helps countless people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.

  • Macmillan can help by providing:

Health specialists: People in the area already benefit from 28 Macmillan professionals: Macmillan nurses, doctors, therapists and information providers, who are specialists in cancer care. They help people manage their symptoms and aim to make living with cancer easier.
Someone to talk to: Macmillan is there for people with cancer, their families and friends to talk, listen and understand what they are going through. Macmillan supports a network of self help and support groups around the country.
Financial help: Having cancer can bring extra costs - hospital parking and travelling expenses, extra heating, different clothes. Macmillan can help - last year we gave over £71,800 in Macmillan grants to 201 people in Shropshire, to help with some of these costs. Macmillan believes no one should be financially deprived as a result of their illness.
Clear information: Macmillan provides a selection of Free Helplines. You can call 0808 808 2020 if you have questions or concerns about living with cancer. On 0808 800 1234 you can get answers about types of cancer and treatments from trained nurses, and on 0800 500 800 you can access a helpline for financial advice and support. Last year our trained Cancerline advisers helped 181 people in Shropshire alone.

We can't do it without you. We need hundreds of thousands of pounds in Shropshire this year to ensure we can support these services. We rely on voluntary donations for 99% of our income.

 Caradoc Charity

Border Office Supplies & Systems recycling printer cartridges from Caradoc members coupled with supplier contributions from the recent Caradoc Suppliers Day has raised £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Pictured handing the cheque over to Clare Nester from Macmillan Cancer Support is Peter Masters from Caradoc.

Peter commented, "Rather than just throwing away used printer cartridges Caradoc members have been passing them back to Border Office for recycling and everyone helps to support such a needy cause".
