Comprehensive Training Packages

Williams Medical Supplies can provide you with a range of comprehensive training services, with complete flexibility to suit you at the practice. Williams Medical Supplies will carry out the training on site or at a venue of your choice and can complete individual risk assessments if required at the surgery. Each course is set out to comply with current Health & Safety Laws and Regulations.

Courses on offer:

  • Manual Handling training - set out to ensure that all participants understand manual handling and how to lift effectively and spot any dangers with manual handling.

  • General Health & Safety training - set out to ensure all participants are educated and have experience in all areas of Health & Safety at work.

  • Fire Safety - set out to ensure that all participants understand fire safety what is involved and what they should do if a situation arises where a fire breaks out etc.

  • First Aid training

  • CPR Training

  • Infection Control

Each training course is fully supported with training notes; the session lasts for about 2-3 hours and also includes a video, discussions and interaction, getting the participants involved in the sessions and a test at the end, a certificate for attendance and passing the course. Each course is tailored to the needs and requirements of the participants.

Risk Assessment - set out to ensure that all participants understand what risk assessment is how to assess effectively, things to look for and understanding different levels of risk. Initially this is a short discussion followed by the practical application of the principles, looking at different rooms and situations.

This covers Health & Safety, COSHH, Manual Handling, Infection Control and Fire Safety. A number of rooms [ideally 3] will be set up with faults in them and each individual will be required to assess each room.  All the findings will be discussed and most importantly how to correctly record all findings.  This will be followed by a short discussion on how to control assessments in the future.

A certificate will be issued to every participant and ideally this course will need to take place where the three rooms will be empty of any people for the duration of the training (approximately 2-3 hours).

Typically training would cost £350 + vat per session with a 10% discount for Caradoc Buying Consortium members.

- Systematic history-taking skills
